Psychiatric-Assist Tasks

We all know that the presence of a dog is very helpful for emotional support. A trained Service Dog can provide so much more! The Psychiatric-Assist task category focuses on training a dog to do specific behaviors to mitigate symptoms of PTSD or another mental health condition.

Alerting Tasks and More! 

The Alerting Task Category includes alerting to health conditions like low blood sugar, spikes in stress level, seizures, etc.  There are additional categories of Service Dog tasks in this training program. These can include: Hearing-Assist, Retrieving Tasks, and more! NOTE: Seeing-assist tasks are not taught.

This Service Dog Training Program is designed to provide you with essential support to train your Service Dog to professional and legal standards. I understand the challenges you face and have crafted a program that ensures your dog can perform at least two tasks related to your disability.

I'm Nathaniel Lukas Redekopp, PhD, NCC, LPCC, CPDT-KA, a certified professional dog trainer. I have utilized a Service Dog for over 10 years, and I understand personally just how helpful a professionally trained Service Dog can be! My goal is to share my knowledge and help you overcome any obstacles in training. I'm excited to guide you and your dog towards success in this transformative process.
